Larry B. Roland, CPCU, ARM, CIC, Chairman of the firm. Larry is a 1970 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With over 35 years of insurance experience and a degree in risk management, he is able to offer professional advice to clients with complex or specialized needs. He concentrates his efforts on larger commercial insurance accounts involving manufacturing and contracting.

T. Gray McCaskill, CPCU, CLU, Chief Executive Officer.
Gray is a 1979 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Gray completed the Insurance Executive Program in 1996. He works with a broad range of commercial insurance clients from non-profits to heavy manufacturing. With his extensive industry knowledge and experience, he is often found speaking to insurance professionals around the country on topics such as sales motivation.

C. Timothy Ward, CPCU, CIC, Executive Vice President. Tim is a 1976 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He joined Senn Dunn in 1988 after having served as Vice President of Jefferson Pilot Fire and Casualty in Greensboro. With over 30 years of insurance experience, Tim manages our medical professional liability division, has an extensive background in personal insurance and works with large manufacturers, suppliers and professional offices on their commercial coverages.

Timothy B. Templeton, CPCU, President, Chief Executive Officer. Since graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1984, Tim has specialized in property/casualty programs for larger corporate clients. He completed the Insurance Executive Program in 1996. Tim focuses on meeting the insurance needs of contractors, manufacturers, and service businesses.

Kurt W. Kronenfeld, CPCU, CIC, Vice President. A 1979 graduate of University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Kurt began his insurance career in 1980 with Aetna Casualty and Surety Company as a Senior Claims Representative. He joined Senn Dunn in 1995 and works in our commercial property and casualty division with expertise in the areas of apartments/condominiums, property development operations, the restaurant industry and large commercial accounts.

Pamela Snyder Sessoms, CPCU, CIC, CRM, Vice President. Pam is a 1979 graduate of North Carolina State University. A fourth generation agent, she focuses on all types of commercial accounts including schools, real estate management firms, and the hospitality and motorsports industries.

A. Nicole Winkle, CPCU, CRM, CIC, Vice President – Marketing Manager. Nicole graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in marketing in 1993 and completed the Insurance Executive Program at Appalachian State University in 2003. She has extensive experience in marketing and servicing of commercial accounts and specializes in the design and negotiation of insurance coverages with our carriers.

Joseph W. Wheeless, CIC, Vice President of Administration and Operations. Joe is a graduate of the Insurance Executive Program at Appalachian State University. He has worked in the insurance business since 1986 both as an agent and in agency operations. In 1993 Joe was named the Independent Insurance Agent’s of NC Young Agent of the Year.

Kenneth L. Richardson, CPCU, CIC, AAI, Vice President, Senior Commercial Account Executive. Kenny is a 1993 graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Risk and Insurance and Finance. He completed the Insurance Executive Program in 2001. Kenny specializes in identifying and understanding the insurance needs for manufacturers, contractors, and service businesses. Kenny was named the North Carolina Young Agent of the Year for 2006.

Melanie J. Shaffer, CPCU, CIC, CRM, Vice President. Melanie graduated from North Carolina State University with majors in Animal Science and Agricultural Economics. She has both property/casualty and life/health insurance experience. Prior to joining Senn Dunn, Melanie owned her own independent insurance agency. She specializes in insurance solutions for larger businesses, including manufacturers, contractors, roofers and the motorsports industry.

Joseph A. Hughes, RHU, Executive Vice President/Manager of Employee Benefits Services Division. Joe is a 1984 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.S. in Business Administration. He has a broad range of employee benefits experience with over 25 years in the industry. Joe specializes in group medical, dental, disability and life programs for medium to large companies.

Randal V. Taylor, MBA, RHU, Vice President, Senior Employee Benefits Consultant. Randy graduated from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. He received an MBA in 1993 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and holds the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation from the American College in Pennsylvania. Randy has over 15 years of healthcare experience working for both the providers and carriers. He specializes in group medical, dental, disability and life programs for medium to large companies.

Jay Haldeman, CIC, Executive Vice President, Manager of Commercial Insurance Division. A graduate of Baylor University, he specializes in property/casualty and worker's compensation for manufacturers and contractors. Jay manages Senn Dunn's Commercial Insurance Division as well as the online H2OInsurance.com program, the only scuba equipment insurance coverage sponsored through the Divers Alert Network (DAN ).

John C. Eddleman Vice President/Senior Employee Benefits Consultant.  John graduated from High Point University with a B.A. in History.  Prior to joining Senn Dunn, he was Regional Sales Manager for a major insurance company.  John has over 15 years of experience in Employee Benefits.  He specializes in group medical, dental, disability, and life programs for medium to large companies.

Robert J. Allonier, CIC, CRM,Vice President, Marketing & Development Specialist.  Rob is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and joined Senn Dunn in 2002. For 15 years he had been with The Cincinnati Insurance Company as a commercial underwriter and field-marketing representative.  Rob’s 25 years of commercial insurance experience and training are extensive.  His in depth knowledge of the standard and specialty programs offered by Senn Dunn’s carrier base enables him to accurately determine the appropriate coverages needed by his clients.


Russ B. Bell, CIC, Vice President, Commercial Account Executive.  An Arizona native who graduated from Baylor University in 1992, Russ began his insurance career with the largest independent agency in Arizona where he developed a significant property and casualty book of business.  In addition, he worked with a major international insurance broker prior to joining Senn Dunn in 2003.   Russ brings a broad range of experience in dealing with large commercial accounts in areas of construction and manufacturing.


Michael E. Francois, Vice President.  Mike, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio,  began his insurance career in 1986 after graduating from Marshall University.  His experience with The Cincinnati Insurance Company as an underwriter and field marketing representative led to his position as a Marketing Manager with that carrier.  In 2004 Mike joined Senn Dunn as a Vice President in the High Point office where he manages daily operations and advises clients in the manufacturing, contracting and service industries.


Danielle L. Hoversten, MBA, CIC, Chief Financial Officer.  Danielle, a native of Minnesota, is a 1999 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.S. in Finance.  She completed the Insurance Executive Program in 2005 and completed her MBA at Elon University in May of 2008.  Danielle began her insurance career as an intern with Senn Dunn in 1999 and has led the agency’s accounting and finance department.  She currently serves as financial leader and advisor.
