SUMMERFIELD FIRE DEPARTMENT TO LAUNCH NEW SAFETY EDUCATION PROGRAM

$7,500 Grant to Help Educate Local Youth

SUMMERFIELD, N.C. (Feb. 8, 2007) – Senn, Dunn, Marsh & Roland andFireman’s Fund Insurance Company award a $7,500 grant to the Summerfield Fire Department for a community fire education program.

The funds will be used for fire safety handouts, booklets, child safety pamphlets, props, and memorabilia. The materials will be used and distributed at local events and in classrooms throughout Summerfield.

“The most efficient firefighting mechanism is raising the community’s level of fire safety awareness,” said Summerfield Fire Department Chief Ricky Boykin. “This generous grant from Senn, Dunn, Marsh & Roland and Fireman’s Fund is going to make Summerfield a safer place to live and hopefully reduce the number of fire-related injuries.”

“We believe this grant is going to enhance the quality of life in Summerfield,” said Tim Ward, executive vice president at Senn, Dunn, Marsh & Roland. “It is incredibly rewarding to know children throughout the community will be benefiting and learning directly from this program.”

Chief Boykin joined other Summerfield firefighters, local dignitaries, and employees of Senn, Dunn, Marsh & Roland and Fireman’s Fund for a special grant presentation:

This grant package is part of a nationwide commitment by Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company to provide needed equipment, training, and educational tools for fire departments. Through the Fireman’s Fund HeritageSM program, created in 2004, the company has issued grants to hundreds of different agencies totaling more than $10 million. Senn, Dunn, Marsh & Roland was instrumental in directing this grant to Summerfield.
